create solids from complex surfaces

Hey, I've been working with rhino, but I can't say an expert. .

I managed to create a surface through the union of various other surfaces but trying to make it solid even through Boolean operations tells me punctually: Boolean operation failed.. .

the operation I'm using is "crea solid" and tells me it's impossible....

if I go to diagnostics-->verification tells me "no valid rhino surface object" and then gives me this:

"distance from end of on_brep.m_t[1] you 3d edge is 0.0196882. (edge tol=1e^-0.5 trim tol=0)

....that is a problem of tolerance?

Can you tell me maybe an alternative to make it solid, or maybe how can I try to do I'm blessed solid plz?

Thank you so much!!

definitely yes....

the command "crea solid" can create a solid provided that all selected polysuperfici, intersect in such a way as to define a volume certainly closed (see image attached for an example).

using the _join command (I don't know the Italian version of the command) on a set of surfaces you get a solid under the following conditions

1) the edges of the selected polysurfaces must be combined with each other or at a distance below the tolerance set in the document.

2) the union of all these surfaces must define a volume surely "closed"

Maybe if you put an image of your polysurfaces I can be more precise

Meanwhile thank you x the prompt answer!

what I'm trying to accomplish is the use of a hull for a car.. .
In fact, despite a lot of attempts (empty...) with Boolean operations, I managed to recreate a solid through the surface extrusion to a point using an igs file (I took the .3m file and I slightly modified it in solidworks until it told me invalid object and I managed.:d)...
Is there a command to verify the actual closure of all edges?
cmq put you some photos of what I'm trying to do... thank you very much! !

gioz86;118948 esiste un comando che mi verifichi l'effettiva chiusura di tutti i bordi? gio[/QUOTE said:
Yes the command exists .. _showedges , is the English version of the command, but if you write it as I wrote it I also works on rhino version Italian.

you must select the polysurfaces you want to analyze and set the display of the "naked edges" (see image ).

the unclosed edges are highlighted in magenta
