hi to all, I dare ask you an opinion between these two laptops below since I know that as hardware there are not many questions in 2019. I have to buy a performing machine and especially longeva to work with mechanical cad.
rendering processes not excluded.
The two machines are:
of new xps 15 https://www.dell.com/it-it/shop/notebook-dell/xps-15/spd/xps-15-7590-laptop...which costs 2499,00 excluding VAT.

the other is a macbook pro 15: https://www.apple.com/it/shop/buy-m...re-a-2,3ghz-(turbo-boost-fino-a-4,8ghz)-512gb...which costs 3879,00 including VAT. practically the top model with the addition of other 16gb ram. I did not dare add the vega. .

now, I already come from macbook pro 13” i5 quad core with which I used autocad, inventor and a bit of solidwork through parallels 14.
I would like to continue using mac but you who work with us and know more... you will know me. .

Thank you very much to all!

of course it is better than, which costs even less!
The absurd thing is that you're good at using solidworks in virtualization with an i5... evidently for the use you do, all those machines are oversized and so you could easily save a thousand euros to have a computer enough for what you do!

yes.. well but not excellently because some lag there are but just imperceptible.
It is precisely in view of a more intensive use that I have to evaluate the expense.
do you think that macbook pro, with the hardware it has, cannot compete with the xps? counting for example to use it also with bootcamp. Thank you.

If for some reason you prefer the macbook take it! the absurd thing is to use virtualized solidworks. I still work for design studies and similar stupid architectures I've seen vagonates!

No figures. I'm just looking for objective advice and you're nice in giving me them. I want a powerful, long-lived medium that doesn't make me regret the stability of the apple so.
My only fear is windows but they are probably unfounded fears. a time windows made me lose patience and time with continuous updates, increases of space on hd and drivers..

Of course they are unfounded fears, I don't know which version of windows you used, but many of those problems are now metropolitan legends belonging to ere for xp.
the fact is that solidworks as well as other challenging software that we operate under windows, I have to use it in a native way not to have to compromise with performance and management of the hardware.

Good. so at the limit you can use the bootcamp on mac. but at this point it does not make much sense. .

In fact the precision line both desktop and laptop are workstation class machines that have features and equipment higher than the xps line.

definitely a 7730 well-carved precision with a p4200 picture or p5200 will have a greater longevity but only you know what real power you need....oversize a little always good... .

So what you see at 2300€? with an i7, 16gbram and the m2000 framework ?

and as well as how gpu, as a screen, ram, would that configuration go well?
What are you doing specifically with the pc... large assembled, render, fem??? If you want to be quiet I suggest you configure it with the p4200 and i7 8850h and 32gb of ram to 2993mhz that at this moment is on offer with 341€ discount....poi the other upgrades of ssd nvme you make them to you that cost less.
