Hello everyone,
I have a question about advance steel, if anyone uses it.
I have this need: I must import a model produced by as in solidworks.
the model is a structure in big beautiful metal carpentry and the external study that makes it has passed me a sat file exported from as (sat acis) of the weight of about 100mb. the problem is that the machine with solidworks is repeatedly planted if I try to import it as it creates a component for every "object" of as: for example, if I have a beam that repeats 100 times, and on this beam is present repeated for another 5 times for beam a plate, in the end I have 500 identical objects repeated. and between handkerchiefs and profiles we arrive to have an unmanageable set. Bolts and welds were eliminated before export.
until it is a few components (~100 to ~300) I leave grinding (we tried with smaller structures) the machine a little and it matters everything.
Since we can't go out, as an axe, since I don't use it and I wanted to help the poor designer of the external studio who is helping me in export (it's not his field because from them until now we have always received the table ready in dwg), I wanted to ask if there was an option to export a solid 3d unit (I don't know if correct) and not a set formed by an infinity of plates and is easy to see.
Thanks to who will answer me!
Good evening
