Good morning to all,
I am relatively new to the forum even if I have been following it for a long time and I have always found useful info. in this period we are evaluating the purchase of a software cad in the company, until now it has been used caia v5 because the person who owns the license works in the automotive sector and therefore it was not necessary to purchase additional software. the company in question deals with shower cabins and therefore there is nothing very complex.. in principle they are designed:
- plastic parts
-extrusions of various kinds
-folded in sheet metal (but very rarely)
looking on the web of course there are many opinions (how it is right that it is) and personally I do not know many cads to be able to make a personal assessment, many use solidworks or inventor and certainly are valid, but perhaps it could be enough also a cheaper cad, so I ask an opinion. a few months ago I had to try spaceclaim in demo but unfortunately with the accumulated work we had to always postpone >.<
I point out that we also need to create assembly instructions (not recommended 3dvia given the cost) and therefore if the software cad is compatible with products of the house suitable for purpose maybe it would be good (for spaceclaim they mentioned me publisher 3d and for inventor publisher); otherwise indesign and illustrator as now though it is laborious. As it is almost always a torture to pass from one cad to another (I mean for the corporate library cad), I ask for some advice just not to make a choice that we should then change in the future.
Perhaps I have said too little of our needs, in case I answer more than willingly to deepen!
