Good evening,
is my first open discussion,
I'm alex and I'm a cad designer with toptron and I worked with the old summit it.

I need to run the old top it on Windows 7 64bit computer, to be able to view old jobs and to make 2d sketches and quick drafts.
my idea is to install a winows xp 32bit virtual machine on windows 7 64bit and turn it there.
I read in another discussion that maybe it was not possible to make it work via virtual machine.
Did anyone get it?
If someone still manages to turn it, can you tell me how? ( aside of course use still old computer xp 32 bits on which though it does not turn toptron and 13)

time ago I had a pc with 2 partitions (and multiboot): on one I had installed xp with toptron it, on the other win7.poi I left everything to pass to toptron_e definitively. regarding the virtual machine I was shocking you; at the time I had tried also that but I immediately discarded for problems of graphic drivers.

thanks to the advice, I am currently trying with the virtual machine (with toptron it I have to open only tables), but cannot read the parallel key and starting with the installation of toptron it on win xp 32 bit on virtual spot.
I have read around that the problem is precisely in reading the parallel keys.
on toptron assistance they told me that you can generate licenses for toptron it on the new USB sticks.
in case I fail I will definitely try the partition.

Hello, Alex03. In fact, the license on a parallel key is a beautiful drain. what program do you use for virtualization? I find it to be preferred vmware

I'm currently trying with virtualbox. with the assistance of toptron I managed to get a license of toptron it on the new USB sticks, overtaking the parallel keys.
I can't currently install toptron it on the virtual machine, it interrupts the installation always and restarts the virtual machine.

I have a license on usb key and usually work with a virtual xp machine on virtualbox. I have to say I use vbox 5. Are you trying on 6?

No, I have virtual box 5.2. today I tried to install other software inside the machine and I managed it, while for toptron it interrupts when it comes to me: important steps in the installation procedure, before entering license keys

Sorry to keep me waiting. in my previous post I wrote an inaccuracy. I am using 5.1.30, which even if obsolete is quite stable. regarding the installation I also installed the guest additions and the extension pack (note well that this is subject to copyright).
still made the key visible to the virtual machine from the device menu? If you didn't, it would explain the installation block.
then take care of the virtual machine settings. in my installation 3d hardware acceleration is very capricious, and so I had to avoid it.

I switched a virtual xp machine and installed toptron it 13, so I had an incorrect setting in the virtual box. Despite this toptron it does not leave because the hasp-usb license key (to see it is usb and enters the usb doors, it is not the old parallel) is not recognized. How do you get the key to win xp in virtual box?
I was advised then to take a new pc and to let it install windows xp 32 bits to cut the head to the bull and not have unnecessary complications.

Once the virtual machine is started, in the machine menu click on "devices", "usb", "aks hasp..." or as the key is called.
But, take out a curiosity, did the 3d system give you the new codes of it for the usb key?

everything was born from the failure of the old parallel key, they replaced it with a new usb and we made explicit request to the commercial to have also the codes for summit it since the wrecked key worked both with toptron and with toptron it.
