comsol dynamic mechanical simulation

Hello everyone,

I write to ask you advice on a problem that worries me for a few days:
I am working on the design of a tactile sensor consisting of a silicone interface prepared for object manipulation.
the problem is as follows: Before intervening with the practical sensorization of the interface it is essential to understand what the tensions are in play and to do so I wanted to use comsol.
The interface consists of silicone pillars of different heights...so I have to simulate the approach of this interface on a plane, apply it a normal load and then a tangetial force that simulates the sliding of the plane.
is this type of simulation possible?
I from my university background have some notion about simulations with patran/nastran but at the time I was asked to apply a load on a surface that presented everywhere the same height. here, as I anticipated, the pillars have different heights and I don't know how to solve the situation. Also because then I have two bodies that have to move between them and this makes the situation even more difficult.

I hope you can give me two straights.. .
Thank you.

Matteo

for information, I tell you that I also have solidworks, inventor (with which I make the models of the interface) and patran/nastran... thank you:redface:
