Good evening

can someone recommend me a good method (pre-existing or macro function that is) to create an exact copy of a set, also creating copies of subsets, attached parts and relationships, so that it is independent from the previous one?

thanks in advance

Hi.
use rm (revision manager) and set up a copying operation.
That's how I replicate everything.
How to do that?
open the axieme with rm
selections all
set operation to copy
identify the destination folder
Run

ps: topic already treated n times, use function finds!!!

revision manager --> set operation to copy

I quote all the above-mentioned egregis.
In addition I attach a document with instructions regarding the copy of assemblies, made available by another user (to him all merits) in a discussion of some time ago, but that I failed to find.
I hope you're useful, bye.

and the annex?

However, if you want to copy even dfts you need to use the function where you use and filter only dfts.
done this, on the lower window, select all dfts and do update.
done.
at this point imposed copy operation both for all files of asm + dft found.

Hi.

I will say more:
I have personally tested that if you copy with rm of all solids and then manually copy the dfts and put them in the same level of the associated 3d you will see that they take the link automatically. if you use different folders for dfts then better do with rm.
rm allows you to build any subfolders, etc.
the thing is not reduced to only copy but you have to use the rename function.

Hello
I would also add that by setting the copying operation with the increment of one, you get an exact copy of the assieme-subassiemie-parti etc, with a final exponent "1" that will have no connection with the original one, therefore avoiding to make confusion with the father files.

Hi.
alessandro

I add that after the "select everything" you should also use "expand everything" before "copy operation tax". in this way you will also copy any under levels.

Hi.
I add: once the axieme tree is expanded, you can use the "select by type" command to select only the asms on which then apply our rename/copy, which was what asked who opened the discussion.

It would be convenient to also have a "select by name" function with which to go to take only the files whose name contains the string that interests me, but it seems to me that it is not possible.

it is possible using the "select file" command and putting the string between the asterisks, specifying also, wanting, extension.

but is this command? I can't find him!
I think you use v18, too, don't you?

Here it is!

Yes, I use the 18th, we stayed in two by now.

p.s. in the search you see in the annex I selected the files containing the string "266", setting the selection *266*. *
