draw toothed belt and insert it into the axieme

Good morning to all, I looked in the forum this topic and found an old discussion of 13 years ago that I was not very helpful. I have to draw a dense belt of which I downloaded the .par file in which I have a piece of belt, half smooth and half dense (I don't know why). I wanted to know which command to use to draw it in full (all dentate) with the right development. then I would need to know if there is a way to insert it into the axieme and make it adaptable in case you want to move pulleys or gallopins for correct design (use if 2020). Thank you for your attention.

If I can give you advice, avoid reproducing dentate straps, it is beautiful to see but does not add anything to the project. It is important instead to have a guide sketch on the primitive (take the primitive diameter of the pulleys, sketch the primitive path of the belt, then use the path for a sweep), which allows you to have the correct development (length of the sketch), in order to be able to adjust accordingly with the available commercial lengths.

Thanks for the answer, so I create a sketch in the axieme with the primitive circumferences of the pulleys, then I create the precourse with tangent lines to the circumferences, right? then there is a way to make the sketch of the adaptable development if I want to move a pulley or a gallopin?

That's right. to make the sketch adaptable you have to put the check in the box "maintain the association..." in the command included. I really prefer not to maintain the association (the axieme weighs heavily with the relationships between components) and to quote in the sketch the profile relative to the position of the gallopine, in order to find first the correct development of the belt, and in the second phase to adjust the position of the galoppino on the 3d.

then I tried directly to create the .par of the belt directly on the axieme . in sync I created the plan of the sketch, I drew the primitive diameters of pulleys and gallopins then I traced the path with the tangence relationships, I extruded with the surface mode and then I gave the thickness. Unfortunately I found that however, moving the pulleys the belt remained where it was. then I tried to make the belt fitable part but still there was no direction. I didn't find the command included to do as you said, where did I get wrong? thank you.

I tell you how I proceed to make a belt: on the pulleys to be connected I create a cylindrical surface corresponding to the primitive diameter, together I visualize the suns with the surfaces on, I create a new component of together (it will be the belt) starting from a face or plan of the two pulleys, in the new part I create a sketch, in the sketch I include (in your case in an associative way) the surfaces of the pulleys, I join them with tangent traits and trim, close. I create a second sketch starting from a plan in which the first sketch is normal, I draw a rectangle (width and total height of the belt) paying attention to position it correctly regarding the primitive path (it is a fact that you find on the catalog of straps), I close the second sketch. always in the new part I create a feature sweep protrusion, using the first sketch as path and the second as generation profile, and my belt (parameter in your case) is created. in case you want to add a galoppino, just intervene on the first sketch and change the path. the initial length of the belt is the total length of the first sketch.
