hi, everyone is new in the forum, I am a student of architecture struggling with the thesis and in this period I am using the sw program that I find fantastic, but still has some secret for me; In fact I would like to know if and how it is possible to open a 2d drawing file (slddrw) with a previous version, if it is possible, as it is done with 3d documents (sldprt) which can be saved in other formats (such as parasolid x example) and then open. in particular I should pass from 2014 to 2012.

hi, until the 2012 version was not possible to save in previous version,
if then a part or together created with the 2011 version was opened and saved
from a 2012 version, this was no longer readable with 2011.
from 2013 version I believe (I stopped at 2012) that you can save the
part or the aid also in previous version losing any operations performed
with functions not present in the previous version.

saving part or together, I think you will also save the various harvests you had made. . .
would be interesting to know if actually with 2013 and 2014 you can save in previous versions
and if yes, with what limitations (because I already know that there will be...).

being 2d, maybe you could save in dwg and use autocad or more free draftsight.

Actually what you can do is not save in the previous version but opening the future version.
As it works, I think at least still a half boiata, in the sense that in practice with that component you can't do almost anything. the only advantage is that when you move to the next version the file you had entered together, where you can bind it to the rest, it becomes usable completely (and I would also like to see that it was not so...)
