save everyone again,
I have a general doubt about exporting step files (no matter the cad used).
I departed from the template file to save in step (change the file extension in the saved operation by name) and from the table file to save in pdf, dxf and dwg formats.
but I have noticed that I can export in step also from the file of the put in the table... before there, at least in creo 2.0, the export operation is exactly explicit (there is exactly the indication export to....) ... what changes?
for cam machines using step is the same or is it good always and only to start from the 3d file?
Thank you.

in step format you can export both solids (3d) and wireframe (2d).
dxf and dwg are more specific formats for the 2d, and I think you will have more compatibility between cads with various elements.
the step format is more used for the 3d, so also for the cam, as generally, for the cam is used the 3d.
