export surfaces in step

Is there a setting to import a step that contains a component made of surfaces (which are attached) and make sure that you combine them and automatically generate the solid?

However also the step has a similar setting .

The problem is that this difference should be resolved upstream, i.e. from the cad exporting the step, so that those who export (by comparing it to the original) can guarantee the properness of the data that is given to you.

If you, downstream, apply a tolerance of (by absurd hypotheses) 1 mm and the system recognizes as closed a volume with a hole of 0.9 mm , you have eliminated a stop to the project , but at the same time you have eliminated a "quality control" . and you, not having the original data, you cannot guarantee that that "difettuccio" is a problem or not.
