second wikipedia uses the finished volume method, not that I know the difference between items and volumes anyway!

depends... in the 2d finite elements, in the 3d oviously finished volumes ... cmq the question was poorly placed, I mean finite elements or finite volumes is the "discretization method" not the resolution method

but how do you use fluent if you don't know these roots of numerical fluid??? It does not want to be a criticism but a question, and a recommendation to bring your work to an end with greater success, a physical understanding of the problem comes before every "consumer"
