Good morning.

I am performing an analysis of finished elements in patran of a composite plate, formed by 6 plies. I performed the analysis with nastran and I also output strains for each element of the fem, only that I do not know how to indicate the fact that I want strains only for the elements of the 5 ply, relative to the centroid (treating of square elements) and in the middle of the 5 ply. How can I do that?

thank you so much in advance to all those who will try to give me a hand

in patran when you do post processing you can ask for the result for single layer. What can't you do?
ply results are typically at the center of their thickness, while non-layered shell results are top and bottom.
What's wrong with you? when you ask for the strain result, you have a drop-down menu on the right, where you can select the single layer
