how to give the race to the piston

Bye to all,
I have recently been planning and representing a tractor lift in 3d (it has a hydraulic piston to rise). now I have finished doing all the calculations and I have to draw it in 3d, the problem is the piston I use, I can not find way to give the race to the piston on inventor, that is to make it move only from a distance to a distance b.
