how to update geometry without having to re-enter all data in the preprocessor

Hello everyone,
do you know how I can update the geometry in ansys workbench 19.2 without having to re-enter all the data in the pre-processor (such as the types of connections and loads) ?. thanks in advance.

hi, as I told you in the other discussion, you must have installed the cad interface in ansys or have installed spaceclaim or ansys modeler.
Once you work in the cad, you will have the icon that makes you pass to ansys wb. Once you create the model you can always review the geometry and update the same from ansys.
If your version does not have the cad interface then you will have no way to update. You need to check what you fired.

hi, use spaceclaim. My problem is that every time I change a small parameter in the cad, in ansys does not recognize the bodies and the boundary conditions I have previously entered. because my model is very complex, I kindly wanted to know if maybe there is a way to change the cad without losing this information. I just tried with the latest version of ansys and spaceclaim. It works.
you need to connect the geometry to the model and then update when you change. if you change it keeps the constraints unless you first subjugate parts of the geometries that contain the constraints.

Hello, then the cad model created it with solidworks. I put it in the project of ansys and created the model; if I change the geometry on spaceclaim (even moving 1 mm of the component), click saves in space claim and refresh at the date in workbench, no longer recognizes me neither geometry nor boundary conditions. I also tried this procedure with different formats of the starting cad file. I really don't know what to do. I'll get you the pictures.

That's why I've always loved the integrated fems in cad, just to avoid losing any association.
Unfortunately, however, on complex objects you can't easily have the real model and the configuration linked to the simplified model to make the fem and therefore you need to make a special model only for the fem.
for this many face model in solidworks and I make fem with freecad calculix.
What is strange to me is that a fem as ansys loses the association of constraints, which have all the less renowned fems. to say all freecad with workbench fem keeps it, unless it disappears heavily geometry where constraints or forces were hooked.
you have attached us photos of the control windows but you have not told us or shown anything about the model. Isn't something gone?
try to do the same process on a cube with n ink and strength. If not there is more problem you need to see what is happening to your model. This is a very simple test to do.

I think it's weird, too. But I do not see links between geometry and model in wb. spaceclaim is made specifically to have the association.

I got around the problem using design modeler instead of space claim. I realized the last modification I made with this software. Apparently if I change the cad with the same software doesn't bother me. I have to see if it's a problem with my model or not. Thank you all for your support and patience.
