import 3d from google earth

Hello everyone!
I should prepare an elaborate for a thesis and would be extremely useful for me to be able to import in 3ds max (or even in other formats) 3d modeling with relative textures that is generated automatically by google earth.
I searched a lot on the internet but found nothing recently, what I would like to get is what a user (a certain ruggero77 ) shows with pictures in this post of 2010 on another 3d modeling forum:

There is a program called 3dvia printscreen, which is a free software from the dassault systemes.
here is the link from where to download http://dassault-systemes-3dvia-printscreen.software.informer.com/download/you configure any key like hotkey (f10 already set by default) and when you press it all that 3d is on the screen is saved in a file.

the only problem is that save mesh in 3dxml format, so you will need a cad that can read that format, or a converter that turns it into a file that the cad you use is able to import.

This is a link from where you can download the dassault 3dxml player or other free utilities.http://www.3ds.com/products-services/3d-xml/1I think sketchup can import it directly, but I'm not sure. certainly being a cad of the dassault

I tried to install the program but it doesn't work, I think there is some problem because at the end of the installation the window does not open with the contents of the software folder.
the program starts but when I press the catch button nothing happens.
as operating system I have windows 8.1 to 64 bits, I have no idea what can depend on the problem.. .
Anyway thank you for the advice!

If the installation went well:
In the command bar at the bottom of the screen you should add a 3dvia prg icon, from which you can configure the folder where the files are saved.

when you press the button (what you chose as hotkey) at the bottom of the right side of the screen should appear a mini window that warns you
that 3dvia is saving the file in the chosen folder.

ps: in case it does not work try to set google earth so that you use direct x instead of opengl
 
I tried to reinstall the program a couple of times, to make the icon appear in the command bar I had to start it manually from start.
google earth gave error at startup and closed several times, but at the fifth attempt it worked.
place the source that I should export and preview the result, surely I wrong something.
google earth was already set with direct x.
