Good evening to all
As a regulation I presented myself in the special section, I am faced with the following problem:
I have to do a modal analysis on a clutch group. I have complete axieme on solidworks 15 pieces.
I choose patran for the fea. My questions are:

1) Can I import the aid or are there any problems whatsoever? Do I have to import part aside and then regroup on patran?
2) at the time when I mix, screws and similar I hold them or not?
3) I have 4 springs, how do I behave?

I am neophyte of patran but I have read several documents in these last 2 weeks, in each house I will know 1% of the things to know.
for now I am pleased to start importing the file then we see.

-1 you can import all the aid. or part by side.
I suggest you import each part into a different group and here make the mesh.
-2 screws are normally not kept but replaced with simple elements. typically with beam and spider rbe on the washer diameter.
-3 springs are elements with some stiffness. you can model them with beam and rbe spider on the support area. The important thing is that you never detach springs. In case of detachment, behavior is non-linear and with a simple modal you cannot solve.
What is the goal of a modal of a clutch group?
Besides, I know the modal of contact parts is not trivial, as I said before, it's not linear. I can't help you.
