Bye to all,

I find myself having to manage several files of 3d of appliances made in jt format (the customer provides us with nothing else for confidentiality issues). I need to be able to obtain from these files measurements of the components, and then some data of surface and volume, which they do not communicate to me; So I was wondering if any of the forum might want to explain how I could do it.

on the pcs at our disposal we have no 3d modeling program at the moment: The only resource I could use next, but leaning to another office, is solidworks or autocad inventor.
for the moment I downloaded jt2go, and I am trying to solve the problem independently: but I just can't understand how to use the "measurement" tool is not exactly intuitive.

Do you have suggestions? other ideas?
Thank you very much in advance :finger:

If those who exported geometry in the jt format did not insert precision geometry, unfortunately it is not possible to perform measurements. you can see that who sent you the file had the intention to provide you less info possible. if instead the file includes this geometry, then it should be possible to measure with the jt2go, but I do not know the tool.

hi hunter (this name is a blow to the stomach of those who are already waiting for dinner with trepidation! eheh )

Unfortunately I don't know what software has been generated, or with what detail. useless that I add that, especially non-cooperative customer cause (I will be diplomatic, eh!), I cannot find this information!

Thanks anyway, let's see if someone else knows how to solve this rebus. I have seen that the "measurement" of jt2go makes me mark points by pointing to me of the coordinates, but I do not understand with what criterion it places them, how to move them and especially how to understand the distance between two points marked.

If you want to try posting one of the files, I'll take a look at them and let you know where they are.

thank you, but it is not very wise to share confidential files... If there is no other solution I can think of, but at the moment better than not.

Is there any way I can verify something by myself?
Thank you! !
