Hello everyone, I'm facing a seismic engineering problem. I must simulate a non-linear static analysis on a 2d chassis, imposing two load distributions (one uniform and the other triangular) increasing over time with ansys apdl. the location of the plastic hinges I made it identifying in proximity to the beam-column joints of the zones where the plasticity is concentrated by assigning, to those areas, an elasto-plastic constitutive link incrudente cinematico, while the rest of the frame remains in the elastic field. the problem is that for any distribution of force the solution comes to convergence also in the face of movements of the performance point, placed at the top, of the order of 7-8 meters. graphical moving of the pp and total cut at the base I see the curve grow indefinitely without presenting stretches of illusioning. What is the problem with you?
