rotation families in proseptto

Hello, everyone!
I am new in the forum and hope to find help here (and to be able to give it in the future:redface:).

I modeled conical families forming a gallery, but inserting families into a project does not allow me to rotate them to "complete the gallery".
Let me explain better: once you load the families in the model, I can turn them only in the plant but not in the prospectus.

I've been looking in previous discussions but I don't think I've found any cases resolved.

I hope someone can help me!

Thank you!

revit is not a cad. revit families can be based on host elements and in the simplest case the host is the indi reference level so its axis of rotation in this case will be the axis of the z. I recommend you a nice course on the creation and management of the loadable families because this is just the...

Thank you for the answer!
I actually have enough experience with the families loaded, but this in particular is giving me problems. I know that families must be based on host elements and in fact I had tried to create a family on a generic model based on surface but then I have the problem of always having to have a surface behind each shaped concio and I don't think it's the best for a gallery:biggrin:

I'll try other ways, maybe with dynamo or other software.

Thanks again for the answer ;)

Hi.

I write here because I solved the problem and so it can be useful for someone else in the future.

the process is a bit articulated but it works:

First of all I have created the different families of conces as generic models.
I later created a family based on generic adactive metric model: in this family I have created three reference points on the three reference planes (point 1: reference level, point 2: center front/back and point3: right/left center). It is important that each point is created on a given reference plan so that it can then manage rotations. the three points must be superimposed (revit will give an error message, but it is not a problem)
made this I selected as point 3 host, point 2 and as point 2 host point 1. at this point I have uploaded to this family that of the concio by selecting as host point 2.
if now you change the angle of rotation of point 2, as result you get the rotation of the concise in prospectus.

I hope to have been clear and that this may be useful to someone

to the next doubt!
