sodliworks 2016 e pdm 2016, server+client e vault: guida e aiuto

hello to all;
place here not to open a new discussion; I have finished the work for the company I mentioned to you in this discussion;
now I was taken up by another company and I have a new problem;
they have "loaned" (as often happens in my work) sw 2016 license and pdm license (always for solidworks);
in this company have been using sw for years, but they have never used pdm to save on the cost of licenses (mah...);
Therefore, being available, I asked to have a user to use having to do a very long and complex job;
I never installed the pdm on my pc.
I press that I use only one pc that will make me from both server and client.
I tried to install:
- entering as user admin windows 7 64 bit
- installed sql 2014 with user "sa" and personal password
- Open windows firewall doors (as per pdm solidworks guide)
- installed pdm (server and client) (with independent package, not using pdm contained in the solidworks package)
- used user "sa" sql server
Now I'm stuck because, from pdm configuration, I can't create a vault as it gives me connection error with the server (using user "sa" and password).
Can you help me?
also in private... as I understand it's pretty complicated. to the limit placed then I all the steps; But I'd like to learn to do it myself.

I was able to do it with the old workgroup; but with the new (standard pdm) they do it (assistance).
I tried to ask but nothing, they obviously do it to you at the ridiculous price of 800-600 heuri..........

If the company has a maintenance contract, you can ask for a hand from a technician who tells you where you got stuck and why, maybe with a remote session.
normally from the management panel you can create a new vault and configure it without problems. then you have to create new view and choose the server with its 3030 port. Usually you do not install clients and servers on the same physical pc but you use a virtual machine environment because otherwise you mess up doors. then physical pc that does from more powerful clients and then virtual machine with epdm server.
then you have to create all the environment, users, rules and everything.
I have not understood what you have to do and especially how you think you work so with clients and servers if the company does not use it and has all the projects on windows folders.
Just mess with your life.
look that there must then be a floating license manager or individual physical licenses for managing pdm in addition to the solidworks license.

Are you sure you want to make a full pdm? then how do you distribute it to the company? Do you want to do automatic coding? set all compilation masks ....make distinct extractors etc.
Then what do you do? a pack and go to give the company that does not use pdm?
I'd think about it very well before I implement a monster like that.
I personally know a company that has done so....with an unformed internal resource really and you have seen huge expenses of hardware, software, super safe architectures and a lot of money that do not repay quickly, slenderness, power and search criteria, non-null failures, bad assistance since solidworks with its dealers could not put us in the pdm.

when I try to create a new vault, it makes me go ahead (server with its 3030 port comes out automatically) until I enter username "sa" and password and gives me connection error;

no, it would help me; I have to create a lot of assemblies, spare parts etc. for a catalog that will become standard. with the pdm I would be able to create congruous descriptions and edit/view them without any valiant opening the 3d models;
there would be no problem, because I would still make a copy and paste of the work done (which I will bring to read/write): all files will have the properties compiled and equal to the files that already is using the company (the fields I can set them properly with the pdm).
No automatic coding. no direct connection to the management.

No, let's go back to reality: pdm can be used as a "help" or as a system "manager".
I will only need to manage files/descriptions/links/rename parts.
a simple copy and paste of the archive built so as to be identical to the group of company directors will not bring any tragedy; I have already done it personally several times, but I never used my car that never had the installed pdm;
concluding, the installation I would have liked to do it also for a matter of personal culture: I'd like to learn something new.

for the authentication problem tries to use windowsnt rather than knows, perhaps it is better, ie reinstall sql by setting authentication with windows users instead of with the user knows. then I recommend you install sql management tools or as cabbage is called, which is a graphical management interface of ms-sql, allows you to understand a little better where you find any problems.
