Good morning to all are new:biggrin:
I wanted technical information. I predict that while having used various programs, 3d studio, rhino autocad, cinema 4d and now solid edge for a year and a half (where I work using this) I am not a great software expert and I am more than another self-taught and so I pray you to have patience with me...

I have this problem that I cannot solve:
I have a very complex solid edge asm file, which contains both numerous sheet metal parts and part (including many surfaces, as this object has a shell that had been modeled with pro engenereeng and then imported).
I needed to render this asm, but the rendering environment of solid edge I must admit I don't like much (or maybe I don't use it at best I don't know) I have always used 4d cinema and I'm very well with that, but now importing with fatigue this asm (I exported it to iges and imported first with rhino, and again exported to iges and finally opened with 4d cinema) but see me!
I was prepared to keep the constraints, pazience, but so I cannot assign the materials, there is no distinction between the elements! !
How can I do that?
I have these programs available:

-solid edge verdeone v19
- Hi.
-3dstudio max 6
-cinema 4d release 10
-autocad 2009.

how can I export to the best and make my asm? can give you more information if necessary.
thank you so much to anyone who will answer me

Bye!
it seems to me to remember that in order to correctly show a set (with surfaces and everything else) to cinema4d you must export your asm file in xgl format or in stl.
should work properlymant.
Good job.

nothing done.. .
none of the two formats, the xgl file opens it..but there is nothing,no display any surface, nothing!

Any other suggestions?
Thank you.

You could try with a step... However strange that the stl format (as suggested alessio) gives you problems, in these cases it is the classic "saving".

You're right.
It's a little more complex than I remembered.
from if you export to xgl, then with "myriad file converter" you expose it in 3ds format and open it easily with 4d cinema.
myriad file converter is free for I think a month then it is paid, this is a buffer solution.
I don't know what else to say, good job!
