I wanted to point out that since about a month siemens has introduced the possibility to rent solid edge online for a period of time of choice, according to the needs, reducing much investment. If you have a peak of work or a task to manage today you can only equip yourself with solid edge for the months strictly necessary.

interesting, thanks for the info. By the way, prices don't even seem exaggerated, even because I think they can all go into tax deduction and not in depreciation.

Can you also take outdated release licenses or are you obliged to use the last one? I mean, if I have to work for a client who uses v18, to say, do you even give me the installer for that version?

I think it might be a commercial matter: Perhaps in the use are less "strong" than in Europe, so they try to conquer market!

It seems to me that other cads cost less in use too. So either we sign up, or it's the cost of translations and the business chain that affects.

from the site you can't choose the version so I would tell you that the license file that comes to you is for the latest release.
This means that with this license (to date st6) you will be able to run the previous versions until st4 included (of course there can only be installed one on the pc).
as to the installer if you are already customer siemens you can download it from the site ...otherwise do first contact us that we help you;-)

Surely there is that in the use it is much more widespread nx than solid edge. I think only for a matter of mentality, but apart from this consideration on all consumer goods we find differences in costs:.... If you buy a good in the states it costs you less....but when you bring it in Italy and you have to undo it you have something to pay you didn't expect.
they are just two different worlds and indeed their seems more convenient.... but I don't think we can talk about "cartel" because otherwise it would be an omnicomprensive "cartel"
