solidworks + solidcam o esprit

Nicola Fantini

Guest
Good morning.
I have been using for several years of solidworks, when in the company we bought a haas vf5ss have sold together to the machine the software esprit then 2.5 axes, which we have after short upgreged to version 3 axes to make the most of the machine.
This happened in 2013, esprit was still 32bit, but they promised us that in 2014 it would pass to 64bit. which did not happen.

I have done this premise, I must say that I am and I am very well with esprit, I have done impossible work without cam, but now we are buying a lathe to self learning and should add to my cam the module lathe and this leads me to have to do the various updates of the case so I am looking around.

I would like to have your opinion on matching with solidcams, marvelous advantages and functionality of this cam and comparing it to esprit, although the development of 64bit is not yet finished and that for 3 years minimum are experiencing a lot of problems.

Thank you.

the 64-bit version of esprit wanting you can have it and it works quietly for the machine you have, however if you do not do very complex routes nothing changes you to continue with the 32 at performance level.
for the solidcam speech I can't give you any indication, but on the turning we usually don't have much competition.
take into account that if you change cam you will probably have other training and post-processor/cinematic costs that with esprit you had certified by haas.
