substantial differences between imachining and profitmilling

hi, I recently enrolled in this forum and as a solidcam user and imachining adjoining imachining I would like to open this discussion to compare and then understand what are the differences with profitmilling of esprit. Is anyone using it?
Having seen some milling videos in youtube, in my opinion I find it less intelligent x regarding the creation of tool paths, it seems that I reassemble again where he has already worked while with imachining this does not happen.

Sure, it would be the best thing but usually those who are on board the machine evaluates the effectiveness of a processing process by looking at how the tool moves, the "sound" product, color and shape of the shaving, tool wear and working life. Let's make an eye assessment!

you don't have all the twists but I think it's too subjective to be able to give a concrete result, we should ask someone who has profitmilling and do a real test, which then solidcam is better I don't doubt it

in fact is what I would like to happen in this session, compare your experiences with other users, with other software, who uses solidcam probably does not know esprit, or mastercam or visicam.... in order to understand both merits and defects.

Too bad I can't compare.. .
I worked 5 years with the solidworks + solidcam coupling (2008 version however, without imachining).
for 2 weeks instead, new work and...exprit between the hands (which nightmare, not even the origin piece I can put).
I miss so much solidcam... .

save everyone,
I work with solidcam and imachining but I don't know profitmilling. how processing is good and does not go back
never in working areas if not for positioning shifts.
the limitation of this processing depends substantially on the tool, the length of the cutting edge. usually
if possible all the cutting edge is engaged, but if you have higher depths, or download the brake stem or after the
before you change strategy. then it also takes a machine that can exploit this type of processing, i.e.
fast enough.

a question comes to me.... .
solidcam in relation to other cam programs how does it behave?
in the sense, comparing it with other raccoons like mastercam, worknc, powermill?

if someone used these programs and can tell me something.... .

hi to all I connect after a long time , I have the reverse question to do, that is after a long period of unemployment I found work in a company that prints particular rubber (settings of various kinds) this has an internal workshop where it produces molds so I should use as soft. solidworks + solidcam press that I have always worked with faces and worknc . how will the 2 new soft.? Are they better? Good?
Thank you all.

Hello locky_77

I use these software daily, solidworks and solidcam and where I work my colleague uses visi 20 and worknc so a little we compare.
solidworks is a good parametric cad, coming from visi you will probably have some difficulty because you will be accustomed to working with levels, while solidworks prefers to make parts. Anyway, I think it's just a habit. the commands are called a little different but in the end the desired result is always reached.
As for the 2 cams coming from worknc you will find difficulties in editing the various routes that makes solidcam. in solidcam you can't cut paths with windows, floors etc. you catch the path as it is, you must be good to let it go where you want limiting it don of profiles, faces etc. is a good compromise between 2d and 3d. in 3d is not that it is a force, but it works. the 2d and a half is great in workshop for the finishes.

Good work then!
