use or not of parametric functions to learn autocad

Hello everyone, I'm a 2012 autocad neophyte. I am learning to use it (and hate it in some ways) and yesterday I put myself to make a design of a crank trying to not use any parametric attribute to what I drew. Unfortunately for me it is unnatural to do so since I learned to use the cad with pro/e... so sketch constraints and quotas... The question I want to ask you is this: do you want to try to draw without this help or can I sleep quietly and use the help of the parametric?? ? I am trying to learn how to use autocad in view of a future job, in the ads is almost always required. . .

It's an extra knowledge to acquire. . .
if you reasons in these terms then you should learn autocad using version 14 and not 2012! :wink:

Yes, actually I did the opposite.. .

However, streaking lines always has its charm, it is a break but it often happens to do so especially when starting from old projects to be adapted. If you come from pro/e I think you have enough familiarity with the parameters so my advice is: "Give away what is to cesare and to god what is god."

That's the point.
If one tomorrow is looking for a pro-e design is covered.
But if they're looking for an autocad designer?

If you want to learn autocad, learn it, but do not use it as pro-e. Autocad is a parameterization imitation, but it's not the substance of the program.
and above all, being a relatively new function, no one will think of giving more weight to the knowledge to use the parameters, rather than the allinea.. .

In fact I think it as a juseppe mauro. the idea of parametric design comes to me quite natural thinking about the 2d sketches of proes, but I think maybe it is not a bad idea to have a moment of familiarity with the traditional method of autocad design... I am still at the beginnings so it is right that you encounter difficulties or other, I am on the track to learn!

autocad as already said was not born as a parametric but the fact that you already know how to use this technique is good.
In my opinion it is better that on autocad you focus on pure design, you will struggle at first because you think completely opposite but after a short time you will get used to it.
