variable visretain to 0 does not find xrif

Hello everyone, I am mauritius and I am new here in the forum.
I am following a big project with a lot of tables, connected by xrif. on some files of the project happens that if I put the variable visretain=0 some xrif are no longer found, while with visretain=1 they are loaded.
Can someone tell me if there's any variable to change?

What does "no longer find" mean? It may be that the layers of the xrif are no longer visible because in the xrif file their visibility status has been disguised by other users.
the layers you saw were frozen in the xrif and, where visretain is = 0 , the setting of the layers of the file that acts as xrif and not the settings of the host design in which the state of the layers is visibibile (on and thawed).

Thanks for the answer, but that's not my problem. the setting to freeze the layers use it just to see or hide the objects I need. I made the mistake he gave is unsolved. this error gives it with visretain=0, while if I put visretain=1 charge normally the reference

in which version of autocad is saved the design that "is not solved"?
if you launch the check in that design you get error messages?

what autocad you use? if you use one of the versions + recent you tried to save the file in those versions ? happens the same if you load that file as xrif in another any drawing file?
if you want you can send me the master file and that xrif (even in private if the job has a certain confidentiality).
