I don't know, I remember that my first rental license automatically downloaded me v2019 while I needed the st10. I had to save the license file apart and then remove the v2019 and install the st10 with the v2019 license file.

Yes, it should be automatic in the sense that if you do nothing the software is automatically reactivated every month. You have to cancel the next renewal. I would talk to a salesman with whom the management is simpler, if you want to privately pass my data (the first license I rented it online, the others through my usual var).
