block editor in autocad 2009 lt

Bye to all,
passing from 2005 to 2009 I realized that now, if I go to change a block, this is opened in another environment and therefore the rest of the design is no longer visible. :frown:
Is there a way to make a "old" change of the blocks, keeping visible in the background the rest of the design?
I saw a discusion in which he intended to turn off the block editor, but then I can't change them anymore. . .

Yes, indeed, autocad lt has no local reference change except in the latest version (2010)
