good day to all, I am new to this forum.... .

I work as an engineer, but I delight in the architectural design of apartments or houses...especially of relatives. for now I have always made autocad designs, and sometimes I also design in 3d in autocad.

Now I ask you if you can advise me some method of approach to my new design and odellation adventures in 3d....

having to provide for the renovation of a house, what I should do among the following options:
1) design in 3d entirely in autocad
2) design in 3d entirely in 3d studio max
3) design in 2d in auotcad and export in 3d max study (what can be added value? )
4) design in 3d in auocad and export to 3d max study (what can be added value? )

I thank all those for the suggestions that will certainly be wise and very useful... .

I hope to hear you soon

for so long you suggest me to design everything in autocad £d and then import on £d studio max?!?!' because in reality I have a little more familiarity with autocad 3d, but I can't make rendring....and I have heard that on 3d studio max, renderings are good

I wanted to emphasize that I am a little more than a lover...... not a professional! ! !

I know... ..in the sense that there is a lot of work to do both as research and modification of the textures... and things like....luci....fotografie....ecc. etc. etc. ...

but you work alone and exclusively with autocad?!? !

reading I have seen that many do all the "draft" in auotcad... and then "return" in 3d studio max and photoshop.... .

if it is a design made then frame it to the wall you can do it with autocad or even with 3ds. You can get beautiful renders.

if it is a true project, from which you must then extract elaborates to be delivered, then I suggest specific software, that is: archicad, revit architecture or allplan.

design from what world is world is made in 2d
the 3d is done in a second moment, when you have something concrete in hand
You can do everything quietly in autocad, you don't need 3d studio.

I don't agree.

a rough draft, sketches, can be done in 2d maybe even with paper and pencil. But that is mainly "drawing"

the real "design" is almost exclusively in 3d.

I know in many still use only the 2d, because Italy is a third-world technological country.

first draft on paper to understand what I want to do, just a sketch of both plants and prospectus
then everything directly in revit, often importing an existing dwg plant 2d
since in piano mode with revit works anyway in 2d as if you were in autocad I recommend this program
i render then in most cases unless one knows how to use 3dstudio (they use both mental ray) in an excellent manner are already very good.

allego draft project in progress
plan 2d dwg, repolished in revit, added roofs and other 3d objects, materials to building components, render
