4k monitor solidworks settings

hi guys, I recently bought a pc of the precision 5520 and after the wow effect of the pc that is really beautiful I find myself fighting on the settings to be able to use sw in 4k and not become blind...I looked a lot but until now nothing satisfactory, someone already had these problems and maybe solved them?

then for the rest what kind of option do you look for? if it bothers you because you see small you have to put the monitor closer, instead if you tired your eyes increase refresh, lower brightness and work in a very bright environment. but they are all things that do not affect solidworks.

Hi so bad, thanks for the answer. all the standard win settings I have already changed them but still a 4k on 15.6 inches is unusable. I think I found a solution, but I still have to check it out, as soon as I checked the whole place, maybe it can help someone. Bye!

the only solution you can consider is to buy a large size monitor. I have a 27'' 2k and it's the limit of human vision. I had to set a character of size greater than 18% to read them decently.

hi drake, unfortunately the monitor is not a feasible solution because I have to use the mobile notebook. the problem is at the bottom, that is the size of the pixels. at the moment win 10 does not understand that a 15.6 monitor does not have the same settings as a 27 etc. that is why it shows the windows etc. natively in 4k. Tramire dpi can increase the size of texts, letters etc. but it is not an acceptable solution. I found some info on the internet. I try and then I'll let you know how it goes.

the simplest is to go to the program folder, in this case sw, but it also applies to others (for example for me ansys) right click, property, compatibility, and check "disabled resize for high dpi values"

another thing to do is, in the screen settings, do not go beyond a 225% magnification otherwise the text will be curtailed badly. If there were other problems you can use this other trick that can sometimes give problems (e.g. with sw each click creates a duplicate of the work window):

the most immediate thing is the resize of objects on the screen customization window. remains the fact that icons are often blurred and characters are sometimes not too sharp. However, in my opinion, the most convenient thing is to use it in full hd. pixels are multiple, so no pixel interpolation is performed and the image is still very clean. a 4k out of a 15" for modeling is useless and devours unnecessary video resources.

Just look at the mess that makes nvidia with certified cards!! to take them to sberle one day you and the other as well. the threesome operating system-software-driver nowadays is disastrous and nobody does anything to change the situation. same speech for the hdpi software and display, the problem is not only of sw but to today of all the software I know from catia passing by sw to nx etc. work for example every day with ansys 18 and their answer to my problem regarding the interface was, textual words: "It is true that the text and windows are messed up and that it is all superimposed but this does not affect the quality of the software and the results obtained from the simulation", in other words attached to the c.... and I speak of a unique license software that costs our company about 35keuro annual... not really bruscolini... but then I think of the same microsoft that has rewritten win 8 from scratch now we are at 10 sp3 and still does not support monitors 4k 15.6" with greasy texts etc...it is because in the end the dassault does not do any more or less like all the others... at the time of the 2012 version the software were rode did not exit new hardware every 8 months...
