cut on sheet metal

Bye to all,
I searched in the forum but did not find an answer. I have to draw the front of a hat. I thought I'd start with a calandered profile, flatten it, cut the contour and then re-cave. all with the sheet function.
In this way if you then have to add holes or other I can work on the plate and then restore the round shape.
I tried in every way but I can't. software: solidworks2022.

Can you attach a photo a sketch something that puts us in a position to understand the matter and substance of your question?

Thank you very much, that was the answer I was looking for. I tried to hold a border and actually then with the fold command it folded.
