Good morning.

I should be able to get a file format to work with on solidworks from a stl file.

I got a stl file and I want to be able to recreate a step (reverse engineering) or a format with which I can work with solidworks and perform work. online I found a tool that converted my stl file into step, but the step file that came out weighs 1.3 gb.
I tried to open the step file but after almost an hour... No results.
from an old discussion I read this procedure: "if the generated step file is too heavy to convert it into parasolid."
Can it be a solution? If yes, would anyone know how to tell me a tool with which to convert it?
if you have opinions or other solutions are welcome.

thanks in advance to all.

I think the only way is to reverse engineering, i.e. a complete reconstruction of surfaces on the scanned model.
parasolid does not solve the problem, it is only another format for the same data.

Thanks, I think it's the only way.
At this point, I think we're gonna charge someone.
