Good morning to all,

Maybe someone can answer me.
I am beginning to set the toolbox on solidworks to make the addition of minutery to the assemblies faster and to facilitate in the future management with the pdm (which will be integrated shortly).

to set the toolbox I added a custom column for the part number and set:
"3-user settings"->"creates parts"->"creates parts in this folder"; so that at every use of new configuration you automatically create a new part in the folder I defined.
for matters of convenience and to have a continuity I would like to start saving all parts with the part number instead of with the descriptions as with the descriptions turns out more messed up at the moment you have to look for a part.

the toolbox uses the default name of saving the configuration name of the part ("configuration name").
Does anyone of you know if there is a way to dirgi to use by default the column that I added for the part number and where can I find this setting? or should I simply move the parts number under the configuration name column?

Thank you in advance for the answers

hello, pdm, what a chilling idea.... who follows you? but is that of sw or competition? best wishes. Have a good day.

do not use toolboxes. we have explained several times that operationally I am a serious problem.
then you need every time to save the single part and untie it from the toolbox command.

good morning, as much as the pdm can be chilling seen by an expert eye, I believe that we agree that it is always better than managing the files on a network path on "explore files" with all the chaos that follows working in more people on a project (at the moment it is so and we are not followed by anyone); we do what we can with the means available now:)

Good morning, can you please annex the discussion in which you talked about it? I found nothing exhaustive. I press that I still created a custom toolbox by eliminating the most particular elements; I am interested only to speed up the simple minutery process (vitates, frogs, dice, thorns and segeers).
I noticed that often when complaining about toolbox malfunctions are included abuse of the same for very "custom" parts in which the toolbox is used as a library to download parts.
I have also seen that there is the command within " toolbox settings" to directly download the total parts for each element, and that there is the possibility to convert/disconnect them from the toolbox the minutery if necessary; as the use of a toolbox creates problems when you want to send a right pack&go?

chilling pdm: I refer to the one commonly used, that of sw. 100 times better is that developed by computer qs, configurable in order to separate the components with multiple filters.

I agree with you, but unfortunately at the moment we only have this for drawing management, so we have to do it right:') we want to implement it, even if it is solidworks, for a management of the most efficient revisions... at the moment the management of the changes and consequent historical are too jagged

these are just some practical aspects where there are problems.
you have to do a google search because the forum filter is not optimal.
