advice: old portable upgrade or purchase of a new one?

Hello everyone,
I own an old portable samsung r519, dual core intel t4300 with 4 gb of ram ddr2 and video card nvidia gforce "cuda" from 1 gb dedicated. My dilemma is: do an upgrade of this laptop by installing a 250 gb ssd (I don't need much space having 2 hd outside of 1tera each) and new 4gb ram bars each (dddr2 2x4gb) or buy a new laptop? the use that I would do is not at the working level since the works I do are done only in the study where I work, but I would like a laptop that if I need to open archicad 19 or rhino 5.0 and use rendering programs, do not give me too much trouble (currently on this laptop I could install only archicad 16 as it holds not the most recent ones).
in case, what kind of laptop could I buy for my needs?

Thank you very much.

your notebook is old enough... I pulled for a while with an inspiron 9400 with cpu t7200 vga geforce go 7900gs and a ssd from 256gb with 4gb ram but in the end I was forced to change notebooks.
my advice is to change notebooks and buy something recently with cpu i7 and at least 8gb ram and a good vga....in net are good offers especially on notebook asus..
1) Would you prefer a 15" or a 17?
2) how much do you want to spend?

As for the bugdet, I don't want to spend much, for the simple fact that the laptop will no longer serve me for work, so let's say around 500,00. having 2 external hard disks I don't need storage space but only the space needed to install the programs I use, i.e.: autocad, photoshop, archicad, artlantis, v-ray for sketchup, sketchup and rhino 5.0 (besides other progrmmies I'm trying to learn how to use what catìa, inventor and revit and maybe even solidworks).
said this I think my features can be summarized in:
- Ssd 250gb
- 8 gb ram
- processor i5 near the 3 ghz (I read that there is not so much difference with an i7 but if to advise an i7, go for the i7)
- dedicated video card with 2gb of ram (free of charge I don't know if they are too many and if so enough a 1gb video card)
- 15" monitors are sufficient

I understand your needs but 500€ are few if you point to a notebook with ssd and i7/i5 and a good vga and 8gb of ram....you must arrive at least 800/1000€ to have these features at least that you do not find a special offer or some special promotion. ... eye that there are i7 and i5 low consumption that do not have particularly high clock speeds and therefore performance such as to ensure good fluidity with the programs mentioned above.

cmq I would like to have the opinion of someone who made the upgrade on his laptop. are there threads about the blog?
