alternatives to employee work (starting activity)

I am 30 years old, working from about 4 in the technical office in companies producing plants, it has been a long time since I have been working my mind to start a business in its own linked to the field of mechanical engineering. However, looking around me I must say that, at least from what I see, the opportunities to exploit the skills acquired by starting activities in our field are not many (for those with few financial means), especially considering that banks today laugh at you (compared to once). in fact analyzing the situation:
- the job didn't make me so rich that I could start a workshop, set up a company that produces and builds machines.
-I could think of various consulting activities/design studies but also there those who work there strongly advised me (problems related to customers who do not pay, litigation, ruthless competition also by companies that now claim more and more like Altron,alten,akka etc...)
- activity related to the energy sector (but also there several perspectives of gain depend on eco-incentive incentives, which one year there are and the next year hello)

remain activities related to services, industry 4,0 etc...

However said this, according to your experience, what are the sectors in which it is best to start business today, what do you feel to recommend to a young person who wants to start business? what industry needs, what is missing?

There is no answer to your question. You should first understand what you can do and you have to build your business.
between opening a company/workshop and a studio there is a sea in the middle.
I agree that banks do not make credit but do not agree that only clients of a firm are those who do not pay.... do not even pay the workshops, etc.
to start you must have very clear ideas and you must already have contracts on which to invest money and time to start your business.
If you have ideas, develop them.

I have just opened a game iva as a freelancer, but I have 17 years of experience, I have no mortgage/rent/rent and I already have two/three clients that give me to do in time lost.
In the meantime I always look for new things, a part of the time I also dedicate it to try to insert myself into sectors that are not strictly mine, in which I would like to work, even if I always catch doors in the face. the important thing is never to lose sight of the medium/long term objective.

There is to say that I am not in the design industry, but I also recommend you to wait a bit, 4 years are few, maybe as many in another place, better if you work differently from where you are accustomed, would make the difference.
