for some designers (I think of my current colleague, but also to many previous diquelli) it would be more than enough an autocad of 10/15 years ago, because these people do not work with external files, always draw the same details, in the same way, using the same functions and the same commands. updates are only seen as useless time losses, with the discomfort of having to accept and re-learn where they moved buttons and commands to every new interface redesign (rebbon and similar, but not only).

for them (and I think there are so many in the same situation) makes sense to purchase an acad license 2007/2010 life, installed on a pc crossed at windows7, so that the software does not break; to the maximum you will reinstall acad on a new pc when it will be time, at least until it is supported by windows xx.

Besides, giving a quick look, at least the first 3 I opened (autocad, autocad lt and inventor) are edu licenses.
 
the license is associated with a self-desk account, to use the program you must login directly from the autodesk site, I do not see which "truff" should be there.
I personally took autocad for 1 year, 70 euros, active from more than 8 months, navisworks manage to 80 euros, it works and the only limit is the availability of licenses.

theoretically if I don’t remember badly within the account where you find all the products activated, alongside the name should be written in English or Italian student or educational.

In fact (because I tried from the autodesk educational site) , if you are not actually a university or high school student certifying through registration documentation at the institution you can download nothing. said this will actually be a scam for charity but it is the only way to officially use autodesk products.
