returning to the point: autocad for mac 2013, according to me, is not yet a complete product.
what I believe is the real limitation to its use in the workplace is the lack of selection filters during the selection phase. It is a shame that this, which is the third version, is still deprived of this tool (draftsight, which is also free, has it).
is present autolisp but not the visuallisp counterpart and dcl.
Obviously there is no visualbasic.
third-party applications for windows version I think it will not work in the mac version.

I have always used the win version of autocad but for some time, occasionally, use the mac version.
What I can say is that the mac interface is very different from that win.
actually the mac has a menu management that has always been very effective and is exploited very well in autocad. Unthinkable in win.
it would not be bad a convergence of the win version towards that mac regarding the interface. some shy attempt has already seen it with the 2013 version with the unification of the command line.
I think, however, that the ribbon interface has been too successful (please me too) to get thrown away and so I don't expect any other improvements.
under mac is definitely better full screen management, the one where the only drawing sheet is left without anything, but nothing else.
in win you can't have this form because you always have something present. sin.

However, returning to the speech filters, with a little attention, exploiting for good the layers and the insulation of the objects and the commando of selection for similar objects actually a little is able to compensate for the lack of filters (there is also the command of selection for families of graphic objects that allows rapid selections even if not for all operations).

but the real point is: how do you use autocad? If the defects I have listed do not scare you then take the mac version as well.
Also remember that for basic use and 2d there are draftsight (free) and autocad lt 2013. for more advanced uses and 3d autocad 2013 and various clones such as ares commander, corelcad and icad (actually all children of ares commander including draftsight).
Corelcad finds it, if I don't remember badly, at 400 euros. Not bad.

But for mac there are also specific cads. vectorworks I think it is really one of the best cads on mac both for generalist use (like autocad) and for specific uses (in the various versions).
I mean, try and think about it.
