What do you mean by lod in the dynamics of bim design?if you are preparing a bim project you have definitely heard of praise! what is the lod? what bim legislation provides clarification on the lod? Why is it important to know the praises?
the bim project of the work, before drafting the final account must correspond to a specific lod – level of digital object development. knowing the praise is important, because when answering a call for tender is required ul lod “f”. the standard uni11337-4 addresses the evolution and development of models, elaborates and objects, with the introduction of lod – level of development, which in the Italian standard becomes the acronym of level of development of digital objects. defined phase objectives, client defines the information objectives of each model and its specific uses. the use of the model follows logically, the necessity of specifying the lod of each constituent object the model itself.

For example, if the project is in the authorisation phase, or obtaining walls and permissions, the models will have to convey a quality and quantity of information so that they can meet the needs of authorities and third parties responsible for the release of the specific authorization documentation. Therefore the lod of the constituent objects such models will have to be adapted to allow the extraction of the required graphics or quantities for the evaluation of the metric computation or the data necessary for the calculation of the urban indexes, etc. lods are not classified with numbering as in the use or in uk (1, 2, 3 etc.), but with the use of letters of the alphabet from “a” to “g”, and whose meaning is the following:
lod a – symbolic object
lod b – generic object
lod c – defined object
lod d – detailed object
lod and – specific object
lod f – object executed
lod g – updated objectthe information flow is described by graphical evidence of the evolution of the working and approval states, and with indication of the moments related to the verification and coordination.
