Why did we learn to beat our noses alone with the things they didn't explain to us? the fem I used it already before doing the university to check some little object under effort....reduce of the course of mechanics to theitis.
ansys is not easy in the setting and that's why I told you if you have to use this program.
especially for "normal" things is better a program that:
- makes you choose the linear isotropic material (steel and simi)
- makes you choose the mesh size and fineness, whether solid or not (tetrahedron, shell etc)
- makes you put loads and constraints (forces, moments, inks, customizable reactions)
- click and resolve and show you results
the standard procedure, or better the approach is to leave everything medium coarse like mesh and throw everything. the first solution is observed and investigated if it reacts as we hypothesized. if we continue to analyze specific localized stresses, if not we must model loads and constraints differently.
if the thing works, it sticks the mesh locally or total (if the computer allows it....occur a lot of mb) so that the structural thicknesses have at least 3 or more units of meshatura that make it up to have a realistic reliability.
The square refinement setting allows you to achieve a realistic mesh with realistic results because in critical areas it is more inflated than in the size of local objects, providing more analysis nodes.
If something goes down, like multibody sheets and see that some pieces fly is because there is no contact between the bodies and the edges do not touch, so it is necessary to remodel because the simulated solution is wrong.
If possible, with multi-body plates, with strange geometries in contact, you can create non-congruent mesh, if the standard ones fail to get a mesh on the two different bodies so that they do not decay the knots in the abnormal contact zone.
the skin or localized effect should be analyzed very well because the risk of seeing huge tensions not real is high and in those areas it must be evaluated time for time if remodeling the load and its point of application or excluding the knots and then take a sort of average value... .or if you really want to probe the values for example above (find main tensions at the base of a weld to use the numbers to give fatigue verification to standard) you will need to fix the mesh with linear criteria or unless you can normally find on specific industry documents such as iiw and others.
all this is true for structural fems.
