Hello, everyone. Is there a way to change the icons of the 2016 autocad commands with those of autocad 2007?
without having to change one by one?
other thing: 2016 autocad icons are white with black background, can you change white with black?
Thank you.2.webp1.webp

No, you can't change them with 2007.
I do not understand however the need to have the icons of 2007 on a version of 9 years later!

because having used so many years that version the icons I know from memory, and I do a little more trouble with these, thanks to the same:smile:

I do not understand how it is possible that no one understands that constantly changing the icons of any program, like a cell phone or any other gadget that you use for years, causes a great loss of time and therefore of money, that no one pays you, unless one you play, then it is another story.

I've always thought like you, then one day I've heard that it's to make sure that the brain doesn't "stop", so technically they would do it to make sure that we can get used to "better" to always new stimuli. They're working for us.
I took it with philosophy, no more waste of mental energy for things I can't do anything about. amen

But yes! I was so good with this interface.. .
... why change it?

has its charm (for those who lived it)
from that interface comes the need for keyboard shortcuts (the infamous pgp file that no one knows how to use today).
and from that interface (always for those who lived it) descends the uselessness of the current ribbons;)
then in few knew how to change the side menu (you know about mnu-mns-mnl? )

after a couple of versions I was obliged to install a mathematical coprocessor... What time

no one uses keyboard shortcuts: I use them! I first write "s" that look for the "seat" icon placed who knows where from various users and with always different graphics!

Crystal, did you not pass also for graphic tablets (up to autocad 12 dos)? I didn't need glasses. and I could put my hands in my fluent hair!

cart that have passed for the graphic tablets. I had a summagraphics 18" (the rectangular one).
the beauty was that once you calibrated you could use it to scan paperwork (which you now video with an image attached in the dwg.
Then I realized working in a studio where they had a digital table. . a huge plan (for me it was infinite :d) of digitization, that cool.

the graphic tablet is still unbeaten... each command had its unvariable place and only one click (I can't stand the contextual menus because at each location it doesn't match a single command and I have to look what's at that moment)... even now I have to pull out all the control bars, place them in fixed and unvariable places of the screen and do not absolutely use the multifunction bar... in the upper part of the tablet I had available all the blocks a single click... Moreover the movements are absolute and not relative and the commands start to the press of the button and not to the release and the 4 keys ... I worked with one hand and with the other I could do anything else, browse documentation, hold an object to draw, eat a sandwich, unload me etc...

I used it, too, but we're talking about the '80s.
the graphic tablet was born mainly for the digitization (copying) of the drawings from the paper (at the time managing a bn scan (1 bit) and using it to video as a background was really heavy. . . )
but custom command templates were also (in combination with the fast keyboard command) the caddist's daily bread.

the ratio behind the interface with the multifunction bar is that now we have high-resolution monitors (at that time the high resolution was 640x480...), which allows you to use an ordered space to put the commands.
the abandonment of the tablet (with the setting only menus and floating bars of commands) is served to avoid constantly shifting the look from screen to tablet (be blind is not possible. . )
then the next step was to organize the commands in this tape that has a contextual part (it is activated according to what selections).

among other things in the last versions (well, now perhaps at least since 2013...) there is the autocomplete command for those who type from keyboard, that (together with the strengthened "circle") completes a bit the panorama of the tools that are used now.

this rational explanation, which is shared.

It is clear that, to those who passed 8 (and more) hours a day on board, menus and floating bars, this change caused a change of tools that was annoying and slowed down a lot/
but I think if we took two users from scratch, with the new setting (with all the commands that are there today...) it would be more effective.

My judgement meter is how many clicks for a command... game closed.. .

...which is also why I can't use other cad... all the clicks you save using the "line" command of autocad are not compensated by any advantages in using other commands in other software. . .

I can't give up my old piaggio. who makes me buy a car, learn to change the marches... and study for the driver's license!! Are we crazy? then patience if when it rains I bathe and risk every curve to end on the ground, I turn the gas knob...

Mah, it was just to say that not all evil comes to harm.
By the way (although I still do not see it, 'this is what), the era of autocad (electronic technology) could be exhausting.
even to me it hurts and breaks to die even the only think to have to consider some new instrument (what modern Milanese call "out of comfort zone"...), but it touches us.

I remember it well, talking about summagraphics, when my father's study began to pass from zucor and leroy (for who knows what they are) to autocad on 8086. a jump into the void with crazy expenses.
Now we're not even in the next chapter.

I didn't explain... I don't want to improve. . I don't want to get worse. . If an update makes things worse, I turn the most holy... I spent a lot of money in courses on various software because I was telling myself that I was wrong something and that they couldn't be as smart as they seemed to me... but then they really turned out to be Moroccan as they seemed... in a course on solidworks at the official distributor, which cost me a 3000 € plus the stay, during a lesson I asked the instructor to show me how much he put us to draw a certain object of exercise, just to see how worked one who knew the program... it took the triple of the time that I would put on with autocad and threw two blasphemies because the software took a tangent instead of how it was supposed to be... and I also pointed out that if in the 2d solidworks had the draftsight interface (the same house and also free) it would have been much better and much more usable... and the same goes for the coupling autocad/inventor... in which case I solve drawing with autocad and making copy/paste in inventor.. .

I understand better, but you added several elements.
First of all I wanted to break a spear with those who go to demos and courses: It's not said they're faster than you (sometimes even better).
It's not a race with them, because their main task is "only" teaching how to do things with that given software.
It is not excluded at all that with another software or for those who have more experience (both your cases) it gets better.

I press that nobody pays me now, but even when I was like this I tried to keep a balance and (always) respect for those who pay (courses and software) and maybe knows more about me.
who is all day on the piece has to teach.

I used solidworks very little when I made the geometries for the plates, so I can't say much, only that it's a tool so different from autocad, but I doubt that when you walk to the 3d it's easy with acad base... here if you connect it to inventor then maybe yes. but it changes everything, not only the interface.

However on the All-In-One Bar (Rebbon), I think you know how to turn off:

just tried on autocad 2019 works...only that (as far as I remember reading years ago) you may not find all the commands in the menus.

(the fast keyboard commands still use them when I do something, at least the basic ones (line, pline, zoom, etc.)

I can't give up my old piaggio.
Tristan I understand that you are leaving for mom Addesk, being a var.
but you are not talking about scooter and car. you are talking that, at the same half (2 cars) you have chosen the "contextualization", that is to say that if the car is in the dark, we put the opening doors to the level of the window otherwise you find it to tentons, vice versa if it is in the sun, can stay also on the door as always.. .
and if you insert the reverse... why not rotate by 180° all control group including driver's seat? seems to me an obvious, civil solution and that facilitates driving not?
Ask yourself why there are tutorials explaining how to bring back the classic interface in acad.
if it was better at all, 50% of users (of which 95% are power user) would not crash to "learn" how to return to the old version.
It is not a question of learning, it is a question of effectiveness, productivity.

Crystal, here you are not talking about interface, or at least not only. you're talking about "drawing" vs "project" because if you tell me you're faster with the "line" command you can also stay compared to those who don't pull lines. but when I generated the 3d parametric model try to stand behind me in the changes/generation of elaborate/update tables etc...
