Bye to all,
are in sw2017 with an open part, a solid parallelepipedo.
on the face of the parallelepiped I have the need to hack a plain text, which I have done hundreds of times, this time however
the font in question is the "simhei" that is present in my default pc in windows 10.
once I enter the command I go to set the font but I do not find it in the list and therefore I cannot write (copying and pasting from word) the fate that I have to write.
the strange thing is that if I insert a annotation text in any ambient I find the font and allows me to copy and paste my text, in the engraving instead I do not find the font.

I know it's a strange thing, I also tried to look on the online guide but nothing, I tried to install the Chinese language also putting on the cd of 2017, but nothing, it doesn't seem to accept fonts outside the default ones.
I need it because those texts are being milled in the parallelepiped and I have no other solution than going through that command.

I carry here for convenience part of the text I have to write (also the forum accepts it and sw no)
中板模和用

Is there a solution for you?

Thank you.

there are some phn folders in the installation solid, try to paste it into those

displaying the font (the file you find in the windows>font folder) shows you ideograms or the home text?
I tried to download the font in question (maybe having window10 was not installed) and it returns me Western fonts. in such cases the problem could be just that which is that you try to write ideograms with a font that does not support them and then solid snobba.
so much to do the counterprove I downloaded a font of ideograms dfxsm1b and solid me read them without problems

Hello Masses,
Meanwhile, I wanted to thank you for the time you dedicated to me,
yesterday I tried to pass the various solidworks folders and insert the font in question, but nothing changed.
Following what you write to me this morning I tried to see what you see inside the font folder of windows 10, I attach the picture taken a little ago.
the fact is that inside the font list of the character in the engraving command you do not see.

What do you think?Font.webp

open the simsun font, double click, w verify that they are ideograms.
also to solid memory fovrebrbe read only the fonts with ttf extension

check if the font is type:Immagine.webpI had a problem like that because the font wasn't truetype. reloading it in the right version and reinstalling it has solved everything.

edit: I forgot that to see what type it is just to go to the font folder of windows and click 2 times above the font in question

an escamotage to check can be to make the writing in autocad, transform the writing into lines and then import it into solid. but if the needs are few it could be enough

I've done some research and I can't find lisp to meet the express tools of autocad. not having them I cannot do proof and see the feasibility of the procedure. If you have installed them you just have to try.
if you have not installed them I have found, but to me it does not work, this page that explains a similar procedure https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-lt-forum/converting-text-to-outline-polyline/td-p/5534893.
otherwise try in the autocad section

other solutions do not come to mind

I tried on autocad of my supplier,
inserting a normal autocad text sees in the list the font simsun, but actually when you write it in Italian. At this point I asked the Chinese customer that I send him the engraving on the solid, I will cut a slice of that solid with the text and the amount in mine.
It's a bad, disgusting, messed-up solution, but when you're in a hurry...
thanks if I have a solution in the meantime the place

could also be limiting the keyboard and language of windows.
ideograms do not match letters, but are more similar to syllables (by making a bold match)
then even with the correct font would be difficult if not impossible to type that phrase without a Chinese keyboard and probably without the installation of the operating system in Chinese

to close the circle...even for other users in case it happened to him.
the problem was in the fonts that I used, through an Italian-Chinese translator I found the right font.
using the deng.ttf with font everything is fine, you can change its character height as a classic font.
