you can, you need to search under tools -> utility there is a function (it should call me xxxcompatibility etc...) that allows you to convert files up to version cv5 release 6.
However, the converted .catparts will contain only solids without history, therefore not editable.
of conseguneza you can not edit geometries but add matter or create holes and pockets yes.

in practice how to save in step version 20 and reopen the step with the previous version. Right?

thanks falonef I tried as you say but nothing and so this morning of good patience I made all the drawings about a 30 pieces all from head... in all ways looking for a networking solution I came across 3d evolution you say is a good solution that?

but from which it works you just need to set the right options and rescue folders. But I talk about conversion of catparts. you talk about uindi catdrawings designs. no drawings I never converted them and I don't think it works.
3d evolution is a good product we have tested for our needs. good impression and lots of options. But I think that directly in cv5 you have the solution. So why spend some good money?

good evening falonef I tried and tried but nothing always get a part that I can't change like iges... So I have done all the 3d parts and all the harvests at the table.... I hope one day to understand how to get a changeable part. . also because it happens very often to interact with customers with v5 version but of different releases... thanks for your kind help... .

Maybe you don't understand. .
the cat utility takes back the catpart (no catdrawing), but the final result you have is a solid shooter... as if I had exported it in step/iges and re-imported.
ps. Fucking falonef... a license to export to step??? ?

Sorry, falonef, I'd like to ask you a few things. I should also switch a catproduct file from r21 to r20. I do everything you said: tools, utilities etc., but the run icon is not active, it is only active that saves. As for the attitude of software houses to charge (too much) to the customer, I think that everyone has something to justify (http://www.cad3d.it/forum1/showthread.php?t=29253) or at least to explain very, very well to its customers.
