creating a 5/8" chain along a mixed line

Hello.

Given that I have already searched on the forum but found nothing really decisive about it, I ask you how can I build a 5/8" chain along a mixed line from me drawn? ?
to explain better I attach 3 images in which you see:
  • 01, the curved line that follows a certain path dictated by the presence of pinions;
  • 02, the construction that vien out of the assembly of the shirts then send in series along a curve;
  • 03, the remarkable difference between the curve drawn by me and the path followed by the shirts, in addition to the fact that the two series do not occur as they should. .
Does anyone have any suggestions? ?
I'm trying all of them, but these chains are really a bitch. .

thanks and good weekend to all:tongue:

ps: use creo3.0

Hi.

I got a pretty realistic modeling just making a series that follows a sketch. Maybe there's some problem in the curve path.

In fact, I did so too, I first sent the inside mesh and then the external one staggered by 15,875mm, but do not follow my sketch, and also do not follow the same sketch (wrong) but every mesh follows a sketch all its own. in fact if you look at the picture 03 see the red line (my sketch) and the two lines of knits staggered on some traits. a result like yours would be great. .

the sketch must start and follow, at least for a short stretch, the half-mill of the first mesh, if the point of origin is moved you can have surprises. also controls that there are no curves or overlapping lines.

I checked and it should all be as you say.
Also now I tried to make the set of a set that contains both tightly bound shirts between them.
now the result goes a fur better because at least there are no two different trajectories but cmq the shirts do not faithfully follow my sketch but an identical staggered horizontally of about twenty mm.
Maybe I try to do a 20mm staggered sketch and give that as a line to follow, so many times I can solve the problem by wandering it. .
but cmq is absurd that the creo3.0 still does not have the ability to assemble chain handling systems in a simple way. by memory the solidworks even has the modules that automatically generate the chain with the pinions. .

I attach an example where the links of the chain perfectly follow the sketch, as you can see the curve must start in the half-tone of the mesh.
If you work with an offset of 20 mm there will certainly be one side where the evening is fine, but then you lose control.
... but cmq is absurd that the creo3.0 still does not have the ability to assemble chain handling systems in a simple way. . .
you can not have everything from life, for now the perfect cad that solves any problem does not exist.

Great! ! ! ! !
In the end it is not different from what I did.. only it works for you.. :tongue:
I finally solved by starting from your file and editing the sketch.
I don't know how to thank you.

better so, the end justifies the means, but the mystery has not been revealed.
