hi to all I discovered you recently looking in material network to learn the use of solidedge.
I am currently a student who has been provided with version 18 of this program.
I wanted to ask you if you could tell me about the material from which to draw in order to learn how to make the wheels dense.
for now I have followed the exercises to learn the basic functionality of the environment part.
I hope you can help me.

Thank you all.

Welcome.
dentate wheels?
I would say books of machines in general.

There are no books that are better than others ... it also depends what you mean sources: to calculate them, to draw them?
if to draw the rules better.
Hi.

Hello thank you for welcome. : )
from a theoretical point of view I have paper material relating to the theory of toothed wheels.
However it is not enough for me to draw them with the cad.:(

You should get used to searching in the archive, see if the attachment of this discussion:
http://www.cad3d.it/forum1/showthread.php?t=9247It's okay for you. However I think the "classic" version of solid edge has some special application.

Bye.

I actually did the research and it was your post.
However the files contained in the attached archive I couldn't open them and not knowing what the d&d license was, I left stand. and I opened this topic:confused:

What version of solid edge do you have? I think they're made with commercial v20. If you have an academic license, you can't open them.

I have version 18.
is there no hope then to open them? :frown:
This annex is made with v18. as you can see, the sides of the tooth are made with a circle arc, not with an evolving profile.

Bye.

p.s. the changes you have to make through the variable table as the sketches are all bound and aprametrized, so you can't change them with the normal method of "change profile".
