I received cad files (dwg) from a gate accessories manufacturer, in order to insert them into my designs.
but unlike the usual, the design, which should be only 2d (I believe), is visible only in the layout tab (not in the model) and seems unpublished. I cannot copy it, I cannot change it, but only admire the magnificence of cotanta grace.
It may be that they have used some sort of setting that I do not know or that my vetusto cad does not handle. I attach example, in the hope that someone has time to help me understand how to use it.
Please help me use this file.

It is two blocks that, even if not visible, are present inside the template card.
banally go to the template tab, insert block and select one of the two, positions and explore it.

being a dwg obtained from inventor (I deduced it because trying to open the file with the double click it signals me that I do not have invetor, moreover the layer on which the blocks are placed is called idw_blockreferencelayer) I think there is a kind of connection between the programs for which autocad makes almost from simple viewer; but this can better say who uses inventor.

I'll try and let you know how it goes in the morning. Thank you.
suggest this:
in inventor, when performing export (file/export/export in dwg), you have to choose the "autocad dwg file" option (default instead it would save in inventor dwg).

In fact, if someone knew how to change the default behavior... :-)

Thank you. It works just like he wrote me. I would never have come.
to me it seems an absurd way to distribute a 2d design, but tantè.

When you call a big company for these things, you find yourself paralyzing with a centralist, not with the designer and it is difficult to imagine what they do.

Thanks again.
