Kill! maybe I didn't understand well... Starting from a 22 mpx reflex file, which then contains about 5800 pixels on the long side, can fix 0.006 mm between two markers distant one meter? If those two markers occupy the long side of the frame means that 1 pixel corresponds to about 0.17 mm. I know that there are algorithms working on the subpixels but I don't understand how to get to that 0.006 mm accuracy on the final processing of the coordinates, since it is almost three times lower than the correspondence between that pixel and real size
Those famous 0.006 mm per meter are the nominal accuracy value that you can get using the footogrammetry which system to align the various 3d scans.

means that if you scan two surfaces of about 1m and the lanes, with this system you have a lot more chance to manage the propagation of the error that is inevitable. . .
If you mix a football field with a micrometer when you get to the bottom, you'll be taking a bit of a mistake. with tripod or similar you can better manage the dimensional error

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=suicdu7709cpersonally, after so many years, I have never found a client who had the real need but I have not yet understood whether it is a cultural fact or because in Italian "peace" / fashion approach. . .

the German market (because of the fact that structured light has historically solid foundations in germany) is more likely to recep this type of technology. . .

Bye!
Creatform has very good products and what I understand for the use you have to do is fine.
I personally use the matrascan that does not necessarily need markers and it was a fairly compulsory choice since the use I make (automotive)
