Hello, I was exporting a model with revit 2011, where I already assigned materials

My colleague opened the model file with his revit 2012 on a different pc, but the materials I assigned, with custom textures, nn were loaded. . .

Is there a way to export/save the file with textures?

Thank you very much

Hello everyone
I installed the e-transmit and tried it, but unfortunately it does not charge even the textures.. I could also insert them manually, but the materials in the project are many, and "unused eliminates" really does not remove all the materials.. He leaves so many. I would also need a list of the materials in the scene, and then I'll look for them... boh! send all the textures folder? Thank you very much for any idea!

the problem is that you use ver. 2011, where the management for the transfer of materials is not included

see online help of the ver. 2012:

"all material data, except for image files, are stored as part of a project file. when creating a project, revit architecture provides numerous default materials. if necessary, you can create custom materials or change the settings or groups of reference properties for existing materials. new or modified materials are also saved in the project file.

....

if you use the same version you do not need to send the default material folder (texture).

Hello everyone
How do you do that? send all the textures folder? Thank you very much for any idea!
if the textures are the default ones, it is not necessary: who uploads the file will have the connection to the folder of the "his" revit.

n.b. in the specific case, it will be short to recapture the links (command r < options > etc.) , as between the ver. 2011 (your) and the ver. 2012 (of whom receives the file) have modified the storage (of the links) with the default materials.
in practice you must send him the material folder, to which he will put the link to the path (of the folder containing the materials/texture) in his ver. 2012.

n.b: 2 - if who receives the file, he also had the ver. 2011, it is not necessary to send him the default material folder. just put in revit 2012 the path of the material folder of the ver. 2011.

n.b. 3 - if you have used the modified default materials, of course you have to send the default folder equally, as they will not be in the folder (default) of who receives the file ...

who receives (and uploads the file) must indicate to revit (command r > options > etc...) the path of the folder/file containing the textures used in the project

If the textures are "external" (personal image files), you must also send the file/folder of personal textures, whose path must be inserted in the ver. 2012.

Hello, gfrank.
If you mean revit vesion, no! I am using rel. 2012 and it is precisely the image file of the custom material that is not exported. the fact is that we used several textured materials "our" and it is really Moroccan to find them all. I'd just need a list of all the materials actually on stage, and then I'll look for the textures myself... But how do you do it? :

but when you use custom materials, where do you save them? definitely in a "dedicated" folder. Just send that.

Oh, yeah. the problem is when doing the job there are more heads.. and not all think it in the same way (sometimes it is better!), and when the model passes from one pc to another! But you gave me a great idea: I'm isolating them by date.. ours should be more recent than the default textures! thank you
