export parasolid

hello to all boys

I don't think it's possible that a software like catia (which I'm learning) doesn't have a chance to export to parasolid foramto .
I also say that because catia is the reference for the space air industry for which in turn patran-nastran represents the reference fem (which works preferably in parasolid).
in an old forum I read about the need for a plug-in without which operation nn would be possible (the discussion dates back to 2008 even if always catia v5 is spoken; I for the record work with v5r19 );
Does anyone know how to address me to solve this problem and this fantomatic plug-in... does it exist?

hello that I know the parasolid format you cannot export it directly.
at the time I remember that for some other software you needed a plug in very expensive but that only worked if on the same macchna installed the software of the desired format.

I give you an example with pro and:
you had to have cat v5 on the car
you had to have pro and car
you had to have the plug in for the two software if you wanted to recover native files in the various programs.

for parasolid I do not remember this possibility.

Now things have changed.

in patran there is a feature called assembly parameters that allows to make mesh congruent of assemblies avoiding having to define a number of contacts (depending on the examination aid) that makes the simulations a little more ostical (but this is not the drama) , and much less fast.
ok then, although I repeat that it seems to me that two software destined to communicate make the life of those who use them a more complex atypical, rather than facilitate it

I can't 100% confirm this problem.

we have done so sometimes:
file catia v5 -> 3dsmax - parasolid

but it is not that it is ideal.
Maybe someone else found other solutions.

typically programs that export to parasolid without need of additional licenses are those that use the parasolid kernel itself, i.e. all the famgilia siemens, solidworks, and others that I don't know now. practically for them to save in parasolid means simply cut off from the file the part of description of the features and leave the part of geometric description.

Catia uses its kernel that's not parasolid, so it's normal that it needs an additional module to do an operation that the software wouldn't do basic, since it doesn't know the parasolid definitions of geometrical entities.

Instead, for direct/modeling, you need a paid license, but in the cocreated world, they made you pay aside the air to breathe.
