Dear colleagues,
are taken with the configuration of fluent v13 for parallel use on pc with os windows xp. Fluent's help makes it simple but I don't think it is!
I give you some information about what I did:
1)The machines are all networked in the mshome working group
2)have names of the type post1, post2, ...
3) installation of fluent in all machines with related departmental license
4)Condivision of the installation folder of each machine on the network
5)installation of “intel(r) mpi library runtime environment 4.0”
6)Initiating fluent I set the parameters in this way.
•size: 2d
•processing options: parallel
•number of processes: 10
•working directory: a shared folder on the network and located on the main pc
•fluent root path: shared fluent folder in the network and resident on the main pc
parallel settings:
•interconnects: default (lan)
•mpi types: intel
•run types: distributed memory on a cluster
o file containing machine names
*.txt files with list of pcs written this way
post
post
....
useless to tell you that in this way fluent does not depart. try to connect to the pcs that in the best conditions do not respond.
someone could, by chance, prepare a tutorial that accurately explains the steps to do to launch fluent in parallel on computer with os windows xp.
thanks in advance
